The Wii, like the Wii U, has an SD card slot, which can hold up to 32GB. This SD card contains all the different kinds of content in the Nintendo Wii's system, including its system firmware, system settings, Homebrew channel, and other installed applications.
Using tools like the Homebrew Channel and bootmii can easily access that content, making it possible to install whatever software you choose, even if you're using a hacked Wii, but can't get your GameCube to run due to incompatible controllers.
What can you do with the content in the SD card? Anything that you can do with your Wii, on a System Menu, Homebrew Channel, Bootmii, or WiiWare.
Below are ways to extract content from the SD card.
